We are going

We Are Going
We are going
We are going
We are going
On our way to someday.
We are going
We are going
We are going
On our way to someday.
Turned to the left,
There was nothing for me left.
I turned to the right,
Nothing was right.
I looked to the heights
I couldn’t even see the lights
I looked to the depths
I couldn’t find any rest.
I paid the price.
There were debts I didn’t owe.
I hope I rise,
For who will go?
I'm lonely and cold.
There is no one to know:
Lonely and cold
With clothes and robes.
We are going.
We are going.
We are going
On our way to someday.
We are going.
We are going.
We are going
On our way to someday.

33b3beyeyie
Dabi, dabii
33b3beyeyie
33b3beyeyie
33b3beyeyie
Dabi, dabii
We are here,
Somewhere there.
We are there,
Somewhere here.
They say you must grow.
I say I don’t know.
They say you must know.
I say who even knows.
We are here
Somewhere there
We are there
Somewhere here
They say you must grow.
I say I don’t even know.
They say you must know.
I say who even knows?
I want to understand.
I can't get a hand.
I want to believe.
I've exhausted all belief.
I'm tired of wars.
And blood pour we ignore.
I'm tired of divisions,
Distinctions and confusion.
Listen:
Poverty clenched
My fingers in revenge.
I was killed inside then
And realized it was cold when
I sent them home then
Before I made time to know them.
I refuse to hold hands,
But I have hands to roll.
I'm lonely and cold,
But I have clothes and robes.
I have no one to hold,
But there were folks to know.
I have nothing to show
Of the show I did go.
So, before you name my crime
And slap my face with a fine,
Please commit yourself to time
In a cell next to mine.
Leave your judgement of me
On a tangent in line,
And let the truth
Speak with itself in mind:
Because only God knows why the thief at the cross-line
Will be in paradise sometime tonight.
We are going.
We are going.
We are going
On our way to someday.
We are going.
We are going.
We are going
On our way to someday.

Fire and I
05:11
|

Fire and I
Fire and I:
We didn't come this far to die.
Destiny calls.
Opportunity stalls.
The past talks.
The future must stand tall
Lest I fall
And fail generations gone before.
Please tell them all
I cannot lose faith at all.
The pool of tears
Have gathered over the years .
The fears
Are not allowed into the rear
Of the new year.
The future is onward.
The way is forward.
True, we staggered
Several times backward.
Fire and I:
We didn't come this far to die.
Until you've experienced it at firsthand,
You won't completely understand.
Until you've seen it at first sight,
You will lack the foresight.
Baring goads
Of loads
On the road from the roam,
Still with nothing to show,
Playing roles
On the road,
Filling rows
On roll,
Dreams that mind couldn't live with
Visions and propositions of opposition.
Fire and I:
We didn't come this far to die.
Personalities, casualties;
Currents of comments of torments;
Storm-clouds of doubt
Forth round about:
There is no turning back from here.
Poverty, you will write a eulogy.
Tragedy, you are near mask of fantasy.
Stability, you have no room for timidity
Fear, you are not invited here.
Inferiority, go away with superiority.
These are the days of equality.
Mediocrity, you are wiped away in a feast of multiplicity.
Do you not hear!? There is no turning back from here!
Fire and I:
We didn't come this far to die.
I came with thirty.
I offered sixty.
Take the eighty.
The roads are lengthy.
The past is where I'm no more returning to:
Where insanity
Is equal with humanity,
Where the rules
Are too harsh for the bulls,
Where the night hides from itself
Because of the victims stacked daily on its shelves.
Our actions will chant.
Our wishes will stand.
Nothing will satisfy
Until our doubt is sacrificed
For our faith to reign in the rains of the days.
Our actions will chant.
Our wishes will stand.
Nothing will satisfy
Until our doubt is sacrificed
And tomorrow has appeared sanctified
For our faith to reign in the rains of the days.
Hope and I:
We will never cease to try.
Faith and I:
We will see tomorrow before we fly.
Love and I:
We will persevere even if we have to cry.
Fire and I:
We didn't come this far to die.

I know, I know
04:23
|

I Know
I know...
We say,
We play,
Betray,
Delay,
We shame,
We blame,
In faith
And vague.
I know...
We kiss,
We dis,
We tease
And miss.
We use our fists
At end of wits.
I know...
You know
I know.
We all
Don't know.
We say
We know.
We all
Don't know.
I know...
I know...
Baptized in a sea of missiles
And we said it was dismal.
360 degrees in a genocide,
And we are not petrified.
Have not tasted the relief of peace in years,
And yet our ears
Have not fallen to their tears.
HIV: HIV will soon be with us for a generation.
Generations will swing on oscillations
and return on vibrations
of degeneration.
We play without meaning
but seek an audience with comprehension
We try to be indistinct
but demand for sympathizers with instinct
We press to become an existence
With a definition whose definition by definition is nothing.
Not knowing,
Yet we say we know:
Holding on to what we do not know that we insist we know,
Breeding nothing
On this mountain,
Yielding to the apex
Rooted in the complex,
Fascinating,
Never admitting,
Constantly wishing,
Spinning understanding,
And yet we look into each other's faces and we still say,
"I know."
She turns
And coils
In burns
Of oil.
Generations
Boil
In endless foil.
I know...
Grows in
The toil
Of own
Soil,
Inhabits
A broil:
Nations
Share spoils.
I know...
You know.
I know.
We all
Don't know.
We say
We know.
We all
Don't know.
I know...
I know...

Conflict
04:39
|
|||
Conflict
No more pair to tear,
Be in haste to hate,
Quick to prick,
Hearts to hurt,
Cause despair without repair.
No more must light be hidden from sight
And might turn to blight because of lack of might, sight and insight.
No more must we trip or be stripped
'Til we slip the cup from the lip
And roll into moral social bankruptcy
No more must we continue in the ashes and mashes and stashes of acrimony and tyranny.
No more.
No more.
No more.
No more.
The god of wars says he's tired of your ways.
You've made nature your prey.
You've had your fill,
And you impose your will.
Would you number the countless
whose souls are sinking to the cages
Of woes never to even resurrect?
You might have no memory
'Cuz the cadence of the centuries
Are plaguing your cavalry
And your sanctuaries.
They didn't know better,
But our children deserve neither conflict.
Have you seen the face of the kids recently?
Conflict, have you seen the kids?
Conflict, how many more 'til?
Conflict, why still even kill?
Conflict, no one's life is a bill!
Conflict, we don't want you!
Conflict, we see through you!
Conflict, you've had your due
And all your loot.
Why don't we talk anymore
When we call each other often more
I know we have so much to say we don't say?
Why are we still here when we said
Over and over that we'll move from here
Cuz we cause each other so much pain?
We break up and make up.
We stop, then start, we separate,
And engage, 'til we realize there is
No one else .
Can't stand it when you're next to me,
I miss it when you're far from me.
I can't refrain. I'm going insane.
I, I love you.
I, I miss you.
I, I'm so sorry.
I, I want you back.
I, I miss you.
I, I miss you.
I, I'm so sorry.
I want you back.

On the Streets
03:17
|
|||
On These Streets
On these streets
'Was born in need
Born, I was told
Of here in the cold
No mother, father, lover
Or cover from the higher
On these streets,
'Was born in need.
On these streets
'Was born in need.
Born, 'was told
Out here in the cold.
No mother, father, lover
Or cover from the higher:
On these streets,
'Was born in need.
On the streets I stand in need.
Born I was told,
Of here in the cold.
Streets have no hope,
Only problems
I cannot cope.
No opportunities surround.
Only disappointments abound.
Frustrations pour like rain.
Misery continues to reign.
The streets cannot be my house!
I'm like a helpless mouse!?
With no mother or father's love.
No cover from a caring dove.
But I need the warmth of a home.
I can't continue to roam.
Will I always remain on these streets?
Will no one even offer me a treat?
From the streets I cry aloud
To God above, I love.
On these streets,
I stand born in need.
Born, I was told
Of here in the cold.
No mother, father, lover
Or cover from the higher,
On these streets,
I was born in need.
Stand on line
And wait for time.
Search my place
In a great fast race.
I might be falling backwards.
But don't just count me out yet.
On these streets,
I stand in need.
Pain strikes through the heart like lightning in the clouds,
Comes through the night,
Prevented us from seeing light.
Paint tears hope apart
And makes dreams depart
Inflicts deep wounds that no balm can soothe.
Leave behind scars that are tell-tale marks.
None is spared from its blows.
Pain will not let mercy flow.
It will not accept any bribe
No matter what your tribe.
But after hard pain.
Comes the cool rain
That restores and redeems
The wretched and even withered
And makes all things beautiful even in His time.
Stand on line.
And wait for time.
Search my place.
In a great fast race.
I might be falling backwards,
But don't just count me out yet.
Stand on line,
And wait for time.

Nothing Changes
03:27
|
|||
Nothing Changes
Nothing changes
‘Til something changes.
Everything changes
When something changes.
Everything remains
All things the same.
Oh, my life
Will you remain the same?
Change has come,
Change not the same
Nothing changes
‘Til something changes.
Everything changes
When something changes.
I can change,
But it’s so difficult.
I want change,
But it’s so difficult.
I must change,
But it’s so difficult.
It’s so difficult.
It’s so difficult.
Believe
If you can
Retrieve
But you can't
Deceit
Will not stand.
Be,
You are.
Stand
On your feet.
This is your feast.
Here's your seat.
Table's served.
Stables reserved.
Don't turn, you don't have to!
Bend, but don't break.
No, it's not late!
Time is on your side.
You are fine.
Oh my,
We don't need any signs!
You're Orion:
Ion,
Zion,
Scions of a Lion.
No apologies necessary, reproaches or effigies.
None warranted,
It's all taken from granted.
Granted you are wanted,
Featured in different concerts,
Right from the onset:
Maybe unheard of but thought of
Perhaps unspoken of but written about.
What is held in the mind is weightier than what is already said.
I can change,
But it’s so difficult.
I want change,
But it’s so difficult.
I must change,
But it’s so difficult.
It’s so difficult.
It’s so difficult.
I could believe.
I need relief.
I must be.
Could I be me?
This is we.
Could we really be?
Us all are we:
Our time to be.
Different places,
Spaces and faces.
Different phases,
Pages and ages.
Look around;
We’ve all been changing!
I was a child.
I put childish ways behind me.
I was a child.
I put childish days behind me.
No more a child,
'Ain't waiting to be a man.
No more a child,
Ain't trying to be a man.

Never Again (Poetry)
02:33
|
|||
Never Again
Never again.
No more.
No more pair to tear,
Being haste to hate,
Quick to prick,
Hearts to hurt,
Cause despair without repair,
Destroy lives and not ask why.
No more hold on to the initials and the superficials
And exchange the essentials for the differentials.
Thinking will be medicated while we are dessicated.
I will no more boast from coast to coast
And host the most of folks who
Sit to toast and roast and encroach on ideals
Far from real.
Never again.
Never again must seeds be sown amongst weeds by we.
Neither must vines be planted in their time,
Nor jewels be extracted without expecting the duels.
Never again must the day be a drain
And the way belay and chances be treated with glances and fortunes and be called "misfortunes" by us.
Never again.
Never again must light be hidden from sight
And might turn to blight because of lack of might, sight and insight.
Never again must we be denied of our portion and our potion and our position in our disposition and our dispensations
Until we are denied of our blessing and our lifting and our progressing
And are left as defts in debts.
Never again.
Never again must we continue in the ashes and mashes and stashes of acrimony and tyranny.
Knowing anomalies, abnormalities and delinquencies
That impairs the mind and tears the heart and disturbs the spirit,
Denying us of our gratitude for the past, our attitude in the present, and our latitude in the future.
So all eyes are on you.
All eyes are on you:
The seas and the seeds,
The shadows and the gallows,
The marrows in the hollows,
The arrows in the fallows
Are sitting in the waiting,
And they're waiting for the lifting of your gifting.
All eyes are on you
For you to make a mark positively deep enough for the earth to know when you are gone.
Never again.

Verses for the Masses (Poetry)
I say a prayer for the masses.
I search for answers through the ashes.
How many more to the caskets
Before these verses reach the masses?
Our post is here on the coast.
Our home is where we all roam.
He might be homeless but not useless.
He might be starving, but he's still surviving.
She continues to toil on the coil.
His life in setbacks, he stays strong.
Is there an end to his struggle?
When will she find an end to her battle?
I talk the talk. I work to walk it.
I step and dance it without music.
We don't always get everything we need.
But we must live to be whom we must be.
So many encounters on every turn:
We find a way each and every day.
I see my dreams. I keep my vision.
You can halt me, but you won't stop me.
I tried to give you everything.
When I didn't have it, I still gave it.
My heart is broken cuz I still love you,
But I must go to be be whom I should be.
Each time I stand, I keep falling.
Each time I run, I keep walking.
Whenever I put in all my reason,
I can't find it; there is no meaning.
The voices of reason: these verses are for the masses!
We came this far so we could tell it
Cuz the downfall of a man is not the end of his life.
So respect the living, and honor the dead.
These verses are indeed for the masses.

Osekre New York, New York
"This Afro-indie band can’t be pinned to any one genre but instead transcends all, with lyrical and reflective beats. The band “turns local sounds global and brings global sounds local” with its clear African influence, but its sound goes beyond this, creating a universal funk that anyone would want to jam to.
